Often I take photos of flowers from above but this flower I have shot from the side. When you are designing you need to take many photos of the flower so you can draw multiple flowers of the same kind within your design.

Here's another Pyracantha. I think the orange berries look great with the pinks of the Camellia from the 3rd of March.

Camellia's have such pretty flowers. They inspire so many fabric designs. This one particularly makes me think of the Dutch masters with it's dark background.

I don't know what this is called but I like it.

Helibors are the hidden beauties of spring time.

These crocuses remind me of a quilt that we had growing up. It had a great vintage yellow floral print on it. I think the inspirational flowers for the print may have been crocuses like these.
22nd February
I love photographing Hydrangias all year round. Here the saturated pink fades into a soft neutral.
21st February
Snowdrops, unlike the name suggests, pop up when the climate is mild.

A majestic tree and St Paul's cathedral. Wow!
19th February
Rosehips offer some warm colour outside St Paul's Cathedral.
18th February
Blossom on our plumb tree.

I found a delicate leaf skeleton today. When I took this shot, the sun was shining and the wind kept blowg it away.
16th February
All the plants are coming back to life.
15th February
First crocus. Spring is definitely on it's way. Yippee!

This leaf pattern would make for a great summer cushion print for a conservatory.
